We would like to let you know that Ultimatum, Inc. will be ceasing operations on August 31st, 2019.
When we started working on Ultimatum a few years ago, we were motivated by our deep desire to help you change the world. While we are taking a step back to refocus our efforts, we are still committed to this mission.
Effective July 15th, we have not created any new actions associated with any customer pledges.
While we are re-evaluating how we can make a larger impact, we hope to take our learnings from this experience to create something even better in the future.
If you have any questions, refer to our FAQ below.
Matt, Steve, Annie, and the rest of the Ultimatum team
Q: Why are you ceasing operations at Ultimatum?
A: We were not able to raise the money needed to turn Ultimatum into a full-fledged social action platform. We were also not able to sustain operations on the revenue generated from the current website so we had to make the difficult decision to cease operations.
Q: What does the future hold for Ultimatum?
A: The founders and team at Ultimatum are committed to empowering individuals to take real action on social and political issues. We are exploring a few options that may allow us to reboot Ultimatum, in some form, in the future. We will keep you updated as we explore these options and determine the best course for Ultimatum.
Q: What happens between now and August 31st?
A: You can login to the Ultimatum website and approve any actions that are waiting for your approval. You can view your actions on the Ultimatum Dashboard after logging in. Note that no new donations will be charged to your credit card unless you specifically approve pending actions on your dashboard. So there is no need to disable your pledges on the dashboard.
Q: What happens to my account and credit card information?
A: Your account information, including your name, email address, and pledges (fulfilled and unfulfilled), will be kept on file for no more than 12 months. Note that all of your information is encrypted and will not be shared with anyone outside of Ultimatum. Your credit card information is stored by our credit card processor, Stripe, and we do not have access to the credit card number. We will request that Stripe delete your credit card details within 12 months. We are keeping this information on file for auditing purposes, to handle any credit card chargebacks, and to contact you if there is an issue with your account.
Q: What happens to the pledges and donations I made previously and before August 31st?
A: All of your donations will be processed and we will be sending final checks to our non-profit partners by the end of September 2019. Rest assured that every dollar you donated on Ultimatum, minus our platform and credit card processing fees, will be donated to your selected non-profits.
Q: I have other questions that were not answered here. How do I contact you?
A: Please don’t hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns! We will respond to your email as soon as possible.
